AC Milan are facing a summer transfer market battle with Juventus to sign Renato Sanches from Lille, according to a report.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky (via MilanNews) spoke about the future of the Portuguese midfielder, confirming that Milan tried to sign him in January but failed to get a deal completed with Lille before the deadline.
Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will try again in the coming weeks because they believe that Sanches is the right man to come in and bolster the midfield, but they look set to face a battle with their oldest rivals.
That is because Juventus are very interested in signing the 24-year-old too, as they are looking for a player with Sanches’ characteristics to increase physicality in the middle of the pitch. Di Marzio predicts that it will be a ‘great battle’ between Milan and Juventus on the transfer market for the former Benfica and Bayern Munich man.
