Di Marzio: Wigan and USA defensive starlet a ‘very interesting option’ for AC Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in a move for Wigan star Antonee Robinson as they seek a back-up for Theo Hernandez, a report claims.

Hernandez arrived on a five-year deal from Real Madrid in the summer after a personal effort from Paolo Maldini to convince him to join, and six months in he is already repaying that faith having scored five goals in all competitions.

However, with Ricardo Rodriguez all set for a move to Fenerbahce, attention has now turned to sourcing a new back-up for the Frenchman.

Carlo Pellegatti told Calciomercato.com that PSG’s Mitchel Bakker could be a low-cost option, but the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio suggests that the Rossoneri have their eyes towards England.

He claims that Wigan’s Antonee Robison remains a ‘very interesting option’ for Milan, with the 22-year-old having established himself as a starter for the Champions League side having made 27 appearances in the league this season.

The USA international was part of Everton’s academy and staying there from 2008 to 2019.
