AC Milan returned to winning ways on Thursday night, after two disappointing draws in a row. As a result, their place in the Scudetto race has been extended.
When Como took the lead, it seemed Milan were heading for another one of those games. Even with Christopher Nkunku’s penalty, for a split second, the Rossoneri were letting it slip. However, the Frenchman’s effort was too powerful and found the net.

In the second half, although it was much of the same, Massimiliano Allegri’s team managed to score another two goals, thanks to Adrien Rabiot, who later won Man of the Match.
Whilst not the most attractive performance, it was a typical one for Allegri. Getting the job done, regardless of what the stats may have said.
Shift in system
Wins like Thursday’s are big in the moment, and they can also be big in a season, and Peppe Di Stefano stated as much during his segment on Sky Sport, as MilanNews relays.

Some of these articles are starting to feel like state-run propaganda. How about a dash of realism?
Allegri style victory = Get completely outplayed and outcoached, have your keeper bail you out multiple times with all-world saves, then have one of your players score a golazo on the very few chances that you create. Quite a strategy.
Forgot the most important rule of them all: if the result is 0:0 keep it cool until 80th minute, start playing only if we are behind.
But we have to give him credit for fixing the broken spirit in the changing room. Sometimes this alone is more than half the job.
I think that has more to do with getting Theo out of here and bringing in real leaders like Modric and Rabiot.
Nah, where credit is due, we have to give it. Rabiot probably wouldn’t be here in the first place if not for Allegri. Also, we see what happens with Maignan. There was also not a single article about complaints, bad behavior, etc. and we can remember what was in the news last year. I bet we wouldn’t have had issues even with the childish behavior of Theo under Allegri, but Bartesaghi is making the best out of it – people have already started to criticize his occasional flops, as if we have completely forgotten he is only 19yo and basically in his first year of professional football. I can’t think of a better compliment for his performance.
We should be glad they didn’t use Törnqvist in goal. He would have saved all three of our goals. Trust me he is really good.
the second Rabiot goal was quite poor goal keeping.
The penalty would have been difficult to save though. Nkunku is able to hit the ball powerfully but keep it very low on the ground. That does make them difficult to reach. Butez was able to touch it but couldn’t get enough behind the ball to prevent it slipping under his body.
