Diario AS: Milan to rival Real Madrid with €40m bid for Real Betis playmaker Fekir

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to make a big-money bid for Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir this summer, according to a report.

The Rossoneri’s midfield department is a fascinating situation to assess ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with question marks over the futures of all but a couple of players in that area as things stand.

Given the inconsistency of Hakan Calhanoglu since his arrival, the fact Giacomo Bonaventura’s deal will expire once the campaign has ended and the fact Lucas Paqueta is really struggling for form, there is a strong argument that Milan should look to bring in a playmaker ahead of next term.

According to a report in Diario AS, Milan are ready to accelerate their attempts to sign the 26-year-old and are even willing to put a €40million bid on the table.

However, Betis view that sum as insufficient to part with the France international, who has seven goals and three assists in 23 appearances for Los Verdiblancos since his summer switch from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais.

There may be strong competition though, as Fichajes.net recently claims that that Real Madrid are keen on Fekir after he played a starring role in Betis’ recent 2-1 win over Los Blancos.
