Di Marzio: Botman ‘continues to wait’ for Milan amid Newcastle hesitation

Sven Botman continues to be a hot name on the transfer market, and he continues to wait for AC Milan. The competition from Newcastle has made it difficult for the Rossoneri, but it’s not over yet.

The Dutchman is considered the perfect replacement for Milan’s current captain, Alessio Romagnoli, not just because he’s left-footed. He has different characteristics than Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu, meaning he would complement the team well.

However, the interest of Newcastle has inevitably made life difficult for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara. Speaking to Sky Italia last night, as cited by MilanNews, Gianluca Di Marzio shared an update on the situation.

“He [Botman] continues to wait for Milan. Even today, the defender continues to hesitate on Newcastle because he hopes that Milan can accelerate and secure him. But how long can he wait? This is the problem,” he stated.

It remains to be seen how this transfer saga will end but it’s clear that Milan won’t give up just yet. Should they fail to get Botman, then they might opt for a low-cost solution for the defence and invest the remaining money elsewhere.
