AC Milan are watching on with great interest as Monza appear to be just one step away from securing the arrival of Matteo Pessina. Thanks to a resale clause, the Rossoneri could bank a total of €7.5m.

Pessina left Milan back in 2017 as a counterpart in the operation for Andrea Conti, who ended up being a flop for the Rossoneri. A 50% resale clause was added in Pessina’s contract and that is still active.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Monza are in advanced talks with Atalanta and an agreement has been reached for a loan with an option to buy at €15m. The option will turn into an obligation in case of salvation for Monza in Serie A.

Milan will be entitled to 50% of that, i.e. €7.5m, as Pessina hasn’t reached 100 appearances for Atalanta. Had he done that, then the Rossoneri would have got a compensation of just €3m from the Bergamo side.
