Tuttosport: Distance remains between Romagnoli and Milan as Lazio prepare €15m contract

By Oliver Fisher -

At the moment it looks as if Alessio Romagnoli’s time at AC Milan could well be coming to an end after over half a decade, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) takes a look at the future of Romagnoli, whose contract with Milan will expire on June 30. The Rossoneri management have put an offer worth €2.5m net per season on the table plus bonus, which is less than half of the player’s current salary.

Romagnoli’s request to renew is about €3.5m, but with the availability of being able to negotiate because he is more than open to renewing, but at the same time Lazio are interested in the Milan captain.

The capital club could offer him an annual salary of around €3m for the next five years and therefore a deal worth €15m, and given that they are his boyhood club it would likely make it a tough decision for him.

    1. Both Botman and Romagnoli don’t base their play on speed, but on positioning and marking. And Botman is way better at this, he knows when and where to stand to intercept the ball or give himself a chance for clean tackle.
Romagnoli still often either misreads the game or gets deconcentrated and is slow in reaction. He has made some costly mistakes this season – way to many for the salary he asks and “captain” band.
