AC Milan have rekindled their interest in Serhou Guirassy as they look for a new centre-forward, but the asking price has been set very high.
As Igli Tare himself admitted, one of the priorities for the summer transfer window is to give the new head coach Massimiliano Allegri a high-level centre-forward to complete the attacking department.

Various names have been linked in the past few weeks, from Dusan Vlahovic and Mateo Retegui to Moise Kean and Aleksandr Mitrovic. Now, however, a familiar name has resurfaced.
Guirassy back on Milan’s radar
According to Corriere dello Sport, Guirassy is the new name for Milan’s attack. The identikit was drawn up by Tare during the week: Allegri needs a strong striker in the penalty area, capable of physically dominating the final 16 metres and with a great sense of goal. An Olivier Giroud-esque player.
The Franco-Guinean, currently playing for Dortmund, is one of the names preferred by the coach and the sporting director, even if the Germans’ request (€70m) and the timing of the deal (Guirassy is busy at the Club World Cup) are frightening.
The characteristics of the striker are somewhat reminiscent of Victor Osimhen: very fast in attacking in space in behind, tall and physically strong in the penalty area, not so graceful, but tremendously effective in front of goal.
The numbers bear witness to this. In the last season with Borussia Dortmund, he amassed 35 goals and nine assists in 48 games played. The 13 goals in 14 games in the Champions League are impressive, too.
Guirassy has confirmed in yellow and black what he did at Stuttgart: in his last season there (2023-24) he had scored 28 goals in 28 appearances in the Bundesliga. That earned him interest from Milan, when he had a €17m clause. Perhaps now they are kicking themselves.
As mentioned, Guirassy is playing the Club World Cup with the German club. He will be busy on July 2 in the round of 16 against the Mexicans of Monterrey and then, in the event of advancing to the round, against one of Real Madrid or Juventus on July 5.
Considering his return to Germany, well-deserved vacations and everything else, Milan would not have the player available before August. All evaluations, economic and otherwise, to be made.
Tare’s gaze for the striker is therefore not only turned to Italy, but also abroad. Among the favourites is still the name of Mateo Retegui, top scorer in Serie A last season. They are asking for around €50m for the Italian.
Not to be excluded is the Aleksandar Mitrovic option, a 30-year-old Serbian striker playing for Al-Hilal, also involved in the Club World Cup, but with a much more affordable price tag (around €20m) compared to his colleagues.

“Allegri gives approval” is the mark of an absolute made up story, it’s something that can’t really be disproven but also means absolutely nothing.

the one time they had a 30 goal, Bundesliga striker available, for less than 20 mill, but they signed who instead?
Don’t know why I read this story, but, after going through it, I can only conclude that it is all made up. Dortmund has no reason to sell; Milan will not spend that much on a player at his age. Just a waste of my data.
There’s no way he’s 29 and he’s not a €30 million player. Pinamonti would be an ideal back-up for Gimenez.
Guirassy is as likely at this point as Gyokeres… move on.
The Guirassy matter left us confused too. We chased him all winter long but when we had the real chance to pull the trigger on summer TW, we didn’t do nothing. Just another proof of clueless and directionless management. Let’s see if there’s anything difference this time around.
