Report: Milan to rival PSG and Dortmund for Reims striker after being quoted €70m for Lille star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan had a quiet January transfer window so they could spend more freely in the summer, and the management are already thinking of signing a striker.

According to what is being reported by the journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter, Milan had a ‘subdued winter market’ to go ‘all in’ when the window reopens in the summer, and one of the areas Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will target is a long term striker.

At the moment the asking price for Jonathan David of Lille is too high because the Ligue 1 champions are asking for €70m to sell the 22-year-old Canada international, so they have already moved on to Huge Ekitike of Stade Reims.

According to Sky, Ekitike was heading towards a deadline day move from Reims to Newcastle but it fell through because the 19-year-old has decided to stay in France at least until the summer, with a bid worth a total of €40m accepted.

Late interest from Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain made Ekitike decide to reassess his options in the summer, having netted 8 goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

  1. Yes sure Milan will buy 40 mil player
(Plus Sanches, Botman and other players) and will rival PSZ if they go for the same players. It’s not 1 April stop with the jokes.

  2. I really appreciate the work Oliver Fisher has been doing in keeping us posted about Milan operations (his podcast included). However, if he ever reads the comments coming from us, on Sempre Milan, I suggest him adjusting a bit the notes he has been making. These notes are not realistic at all. The idea should be to keep us informed and not to write fairies. Ekitike is one of the most promising young players in Ligue 1. Definitely, he will end up at a very rich club. To write that Milan is interestred in this player is nothing else but rubbish. Milan is interested in Lazetic kind of operations…

    1. It’s because it’s all clickbait to him. More audience interaction means more adverts can be sold. It’s 99% bilge. Just regurgitating what’s already out there and hypothesising fairytale signings. You full into barrel with enough tits you gonna come up sucking one

  3. Milan can rivalise with none of the big spenders…if you see how this winter market went, we behaved like a serie C team, spending 4 milion euros on a player and releasing Conti, that’s it! We lack player ib almost every position, CB (Gabbi and Romagnoki are seri b material, Kjaer out for the season, Tomori God knows when he will be back), CM (Kessie wil leave), AM (Diaz is sh*t), striker : Ibrahimovic his time is over, Giroud is only a good header…and The Management behaved like we have a strong competitive team, yeah right!
