MN: Empoli win produces familiar worries for Milan – the key thing Pioli must fix

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan managed to get all three points against Empoli on Saturday night but it wasn’t the convincing win many were hoping for.

MilanNews columnist Pietro Mazzara recalls how the level of performance dropped dramatically in the second half against Andreazzoli’s side just as it did in the 1-1 draw against Udinese and also arguably in the 2-2 with Salernitana.

It is as if the Rossoneri turned off their engines as they did not produce great chances and risked conceding an equaliser that could have changed the outcome of the match. Stefano Pioli cannot be happy with what he saw from his team in the second 45 minutes, because a game with just a goal in it for so long is simply too dangerous.

From today at Milanello the team will have to work on the level of concentration and keeping the bar high for 90 minutes. The trip to relegation battlers Cagliari will be a big test and one where slip-ups are not allowed.
