Tammy Abraham’s performances this season have not convinced AC Milan, and this means his future is yet to be decided, though it does not look positive.
Signing a striker is a difficult thing to do, the best ones cost a lot of money, whilst taking a risk on someone can leave you hanging in the balance. Analysing Abraham’s contribution to Milan then is slightly challenging.
For the most part, he has failed to offer a lot of what made him great in the past, however, glimpses of that player have been seen in big moments – the Supercoppa Italiana final, for example.
As a result, this leaves Milan in a difficult position about the future, especially with other clubs waiting for an opportunity to take the chance themselves. However, a decision remains in the Rossoneri’s court, at least for now.
Though, as Tuttosport (via Milan News) writes, it seems that a permanent move is unlikely right now. According to the report, there are two reasons why the club are not sold yet, and both are economically weighted.
Primarily, the club do not want to pay more than €20 million for the former Chelsea striker, then, there is the case of his excessive wages – more than €5m per season currently.

Better not buy, especially if we want to change coach. No guarantee he could perform as well next season.
I mean as a backup striker I think it’s a decent deal. Unless we really go for Luca
They will again go for youngsters.
He is our best striker. If we don’t sign him, then I hope we have a plan.
He’s a good sport striker. Puts others in positions to score. But I don’t trust him one on one with the GK. He’s clumsy.
At a reasonable price he’s a good bench option with great link up play …
How many one on ones has he had with the keeper this season? Most of his chances this season came from positioning for rebounds and other opportunities. A striker like him breaths goals. He just needs to get a consistent run of games.
Even with inconsistent minutes in the Serie A he has a higher xG than Morata and Gimenez. That shows you his positioning in the box is elite even though he’s missed a lot. Once he cleans up the finishing, you have a complete striker on your hands.
He definitely has respectable numbers for someone who plays off the bench. That’s why I say he’s a good bench option. Or in a two striker system a good link up option.
It’s a luxury to have a player like him on the bench. We have to understand he’s only at the club due to a major injury that saw him miss 90% of last season. Under normal circumstances, he would have been sold to be a starter for another club instead of loaned out.
This is basically a rehabilitation season for him. Once he gets back to his pre injury form, I don’t think he’ll settle for a bench role.
In my opinion, they should make Gimenez the bench option since his only strength is being in the box. Abraham can start and raise the level of the attack with his link up play. And Gimenez can come in if teams are parking the bus and we have to spray crosses into the box.
I don’t know what this article is talking about saying he hasn’t shown much? He’s done quite well in limited playing time both scoring and assisting and has played a big part in many of our comeback wins. I would argue that he has been our best striker this season. He probably leads the team in production per minutes played.
He should be getting more starts over Giminez so we can really get a good idea of whether or not to bring him back. I would if he is willing to take a small paycut.
