Falk: Bayern Munich put Milan star on list of targets after damaging injury

Mike Maignan is on the list of goalkeeping targets for Bayern Munich as they may need to seek a replacement for Manuel Neuer, a report claims.

Bayern have been pushed into a difficult situation because first-choice goalkeeper Neuer could be sidelined for ‘up to ten weeks’ with an injury that he sustained, while second-choice Yann Sommer has joined Inter.

According to Christian Falk of SportBild, the Bavarian side have set the ball rolling to try and find potential cover who could also be a long-term replacement for the German, who is now 37 years of age.

Bayern discussed a couple of candidates including Maignan and Diogo Costa (23, Porto) in the event that Neuer’s comeback could no longer be estimated in terms of time.

It comes amid speculation that Milan wish to renew the contract of the Frenchman, who is one of the undisputed leaders of the squad and he is still under a contract that runs until 2026.
