Given Milan’s need to sell some players this summer, which resulted in the departures of Tijjani Reijnders and Theo Hernandez (soon to be official), Leao has been linked with various clubs. A move to Bayern Munich has seemed like the most concrete option, but now a new update has arrived.
According to the Bayern Munich-focused journalist Christian Falk, the German side do indeed have Leao on their list for the summer. However, the winger’s current salary of €6.5m-7m including bonuses at Milan is deemed to high by the club.
Indeed, as the journalist points out, such a salary at Bayern Munich would put him alongside stars like Serge Gnabry. This has resulted in the Allianz Arena side taking a step back in their pursuit, with nothing concrete at the moment even if he remains on the list.
Allegri’s support is key
Of course, most Milan fans will agree that an exit hasn’t really been on the cards for Leao this summer. Big sales have already been made and Max Allegri’s has always made it clear that the No.10 is the focal point of his team.
Furthermore, Leao is happy at the club despite the departures of some of his friends. The link-up with Theo Hernandez will undoubtedly be missed, but the winger is excited to be working with such an experienced coach as Allegri.
