La Repubblica: Family requests saw Milan walk away from deal for Juventus-bound striker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan decided to walk away from a deal to sign Tommaso Mancini from Vicenza thus paving the way for his move to Juventus, a report claims.

Milan negotiated with Vicenza over the signing of the teenage striker who they wished to recruit in order to bolster the strikeforce of the Primavera allowing Marko Lazetic to leave on loan.

According to what was reported by today’s edition of La Repubblica (via SempreMilan.it), the move broke apart due to the commissions requested by Mancini’s entourage.

In addition to the transfer fee that would have been paid to Vicenza, Mancini’s family made a request for €2m in commissions and that was declined by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara who have always had a firm stance on money being spent outside of the deal.

However, the request seems instead to have been accepted by Juventus who are now preparing to formalise the deal.

    1. They are not greedy, they are business people, agree to the deal or leave it for someone who agrees, it is as simple as that….stop calling people trying to make money greedy as if you are any different if you are in that situation, people like you will even demand 10m

      1. Totally greedy, the main point is that this was not even an agent commission it was an outside fee to people that are acting as unlicensed agents. I bet you it won’t show up in juventus accounts that they paid this fee. Shady stuff by greedy people we don’t need a donnarummer 2.0

      2. Agree it’s not greedy. We would all ask for the same. We have the right not to pay it and if another club wants to then that fine. Honestly who cares. Another most likely overrated Italian striker who rarely pans out. I’m sure he will be fine for a lower club eventually but the chances of him becoming the next Pippo or Immobile are slim to none. On to the next

      3. I see. So I guess you are also ok with people asking for dowry like in third world countries? How about asking for money when choosing school/college etc? It’s all business right? And since it’s business, how about we do it the other way? Like parents giving money instead of taking it to get things done?
Stop spreading your bs couch philosophy.

  1. 2m euro commission + 5m euro transfer fee. Not worth for just primavera striker. Even if ibra/giroud retired most likely we will buy experience striker not using him. He will end up loan in many club for 3-4 years
