Fichajes: Chelsea reignite interest in Milan star with €175m clause

Chelsea remain interested in signing Rafael Leao from AC Milan and they have received a boost because Paris Saint-Germain have dropped out of the race, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Fichajes, Chelsea are seriously considering going for Leao at the end of the season as their big spending ways look set to continue.

At 24 years old, he is considered one of Europe’s best players in his position and his impressive record backs up that claim: in 195 appearances for Milan, he has 52 goals and 44 assists.

Chelsea are preparing for the possible departure of Raheem Sterling, who has been ‘put up for sale’ by the London club, but signing the Portuguese international will not be easy as he would command a huge transfer fee.

The Blues would have to consider carefully whether they can make another huge investment given their financial situation and the large expenses incurred in recent transfer windows.

Meanwhile, PSG seem to have pulled out of the race and they are focusing on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Leao has a release clause of €175m which was put in the contract he signed last May.

Leao’s own personal wishes will have a big influence, and he himself has reiterated his commitment to and his happiness with the Rossoneri.
