Fichajes: Milan lead race to sign Arsenal defender – the possible meeting point

AC Milan have overtaken Inter in the race to sign Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal ahead of the summer, according to a report from Spain.

Milan are known to be long-term admirers of Kiwior having been repeatedly linked with a move for him while he was with Spezia, and it seems that interest has never gone away.

According to Fichajes, Milan have been in direct contact with Arsenal for some time to try to reach an agreement over the Polish central defender, with the Rossoneri persisting in their mission to sign him on loan with an option to buy.

However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not in favour of loaning Kiwior out, let alone on a loan deal that includes an option to buy. However, they could consider a loan with an obligation to buy and thus guaranteed money.

Talks between Milan and Arsenal continue, with both sides trying to find an agreement that meets their respective needs. The possibility of a transfer with conditional clauses could be the meeting point that allows progress in the negotiations and to close the deal for Kiwior.

He arrived at Arsenal last summer from Spezia in exchange for €25m, and so far this year he has racked up a total of 711 minutes in 16 games.
