Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus has revealed that he turned down an offer to become manager of AC Milan at one point.
Jesus, who has most notably coached Benfica and Sporting CP, has amassed a total of 14 trophies across spells at 15 different clubs.
He was linked with the Milan job in 2017 when he was at Sporting and Vincenzo Montella was struggling as Milan boss, with reports that Massimiliano Mirabelli met with his lawyer to sound out interest.
Jesus – who led Benfica to consecutive Europa League finals – has now revealed that he turned Milan but would not do so again.
“In the past offers I had offers from Atletico, Valencia, Monaco and Milan,” he said, as per MilanEye.
“Who normally turns down Milan? I did, today I would not do it again. But at that time I rejected because I was a well paid coach.”
