Alessandro Florenzi will be a Milan player next season, with the Rossoneri having decided they will pay activate his buyout option, according to a new report.
Florenzi joined on loan from Roma last summer and has grown in influence around the club both on and off the field, providing solid competition at full back.
After suggestions that Milan were edging towards retaining his services, Calciomercato.com now report that the decision has been made and his €4.5m buy option will be met, with the club fully convinced he should be at San Siro beyond the current season.
Stefano Pioli and Ricky Massara are both on board with the purchase, with Milan impressed that the 31-year-old has already racked up 26 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri.
Another important factor in the decision was Florenzi’s experience and nationality, which helps out Milan when putting together squad lists for Serie A and UEFA.
