CM: Florenzi working hard on his recovery but permanent stay at Milan is now in doubt

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessandro Florenzi is moving towards making a full recovery from his latest knee operation but there are doubts about whether he will remain at Milan, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Florenzi is working to recover from the injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee sustained during the league match against Bologna, and yesterday he resumed being able to run on the fields at Milanello.

He will not be on the pitch on Sunday against Fiorentina, but hopes to return to the squad for the match against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday 8 May, though that remains a difficult target so the game against Atalanta on Sunday 15 May may be more realistic.

He is working overtime to return as soon as possible, but Pioli does not want to take risks. Before the injury Paolo Maldini was ready to discuss with Roma a discount on the €4.5m option to buy – even if no encouraging signs arrived from the Giallorossi – but with the arrival of Investcorp and the establishment of a new ownership things are now even more in doubt.
