Footmercato: Lyon ‘begin talks’ for highly-rated Milan midfielder – the details

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan are set to re-vamp their midfield this summer, and there has been a growing interest in one midfielder from other clubs. Today, a report has suggested that there is a rising level of interest in France.

Earlier in the summer, it was reported that Napoli were tempted by the prospect of signing Yunus Musah, but their efforts were quickly rebuffed. Following the interest, Musah was deemed un-sellable by the Rossoneri, with him being listed as one of only three secure midfielders.

However, this has not put other clubs off, and a report from Footmercato has suggested that there is interest from Olympique Lyon in the midfielder’s services. The report states that the French club are ‘spending like crazy’ this summer, and this much is true with €125 million spent already.

They are not finished, though, and their recruitment team have identified Milan’s American midfielder as their next potential acquisition, and Footmercato suggests that talks have already begun between the two clubs.

Given he is priced at €22m, it will not be an easy deal to negotiate, especially when the midfielder is supposedly unavailable. However, it has been stated throughout the mercato so far that if a value is met, then a deal will be considered.

Musah will also have to be convinced of a move, according to the report, but if he is offered first-team guarantees, perhaps his head could be turned.

  1. 22 mil? So this managment is giving him for his market value while every club is making fun of us by demanding 20% more money for player then his market value. We are such a joke of a club

    1. Damn you can’t just believe everything you read out here. This is the same management that sold Tonali way over is market value, so you think Milan will just sell him, not to even say that way cheap, yall got to chill.

  2. Lyon already spend almost 130 million on players so far this window. Don’t think they have the money to spend anymore

  3. Seems like it’s Bennacer who won Fonseca over. But I doubt this report is true.

But if true then these two directors Furalni and Fonseca are a couple of useless, incapabale, bureaucratic m0r0ns. Wasted money on bunch of runners last summer when we desperately needed a DM, just so sell one of those runners now. Clowns.

    1. One way too look at it.
The other way is that no one wants Bennacer.
Teams like Napoli and Lyon are trying to sign Musah, while only some teams from Arabia want to sign Bennacer.

  4. Milan have refused advances for Musah before if my memory serves me right. I don’t see them offloading him after a year…

  5. If someone is foolish enough to give us 30M for Musah – SELL

I have said this many times before: I like Musah. But he is extremely raw and is an expensive BACKUP. If he wasn’t American I doubt he’d even be in the team.

With Fonseca saying he sees Pulisic as #10 behind the striker – which means Chuk starts on RW – who is he going to play over??? Reminders? RLC? A new DM?? Benny (if he’s kept)?? So he’s an expensive backup that still needs lots of development. With our pathetic budget if you can get 30M for a BACKUP – you absolutely sell. But we won’t cause he’s American and Fulani just said they want to be more American. So we are stuck w him. Let’s just Hope he learns how to play football eventually

  6. I don’t see Musah getting much chance to play, even with a new coach. So, if they can get good money for him, Adli, Pobega, they should let them go. Each one of them needs first team football to improve their games.
