Footmercato: Milan, Inter and Juventus eye €20m+ RC Lens star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of three Italian clubs that are keen on signing defender Facundo Medina from RC Lens, according to a report from France.

Milan have welcomed Matteo Gabbia back from his loan spell at Villarreal but they are still looking for another player in that role given Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori will be out for some time with muscle injuries.

According to FootMercato, three Serie A sides have set their sights on signing Medina from RC Lens, with Milan joined by their biggest rivals Inter and Juventus in holding an interest in the 24-year-old.

It seems the Rossoneri are pushing for a left-footed centre-back and that is somewhere that the Argentine ticks a box, so much so that there is an ‘unnamed Premier League club’ also on his trail.

Last season, Medina was named Lens’ Player of the Season and they want to offer him yet another renewal despite the fact he extended his deal until June 2026 in January 2023.

Medina, who arrived in 2020 for €4 million, feels good at RC Lens and above all he would cost over €20m, asignificant amount even for the clubs mentioned above.

  1. spend 20mil on player, we got no money! we could not pay the commission on player we scouted and fought for, citing how rude and unprofessional his agents were coming a day early for negotiations, now we are linked with a 20m rated defender? come on!
