FootMercato: Milan readying offer for Newcastle winger Saint-Maximin

By Oliver Fisher -

Another report has emerged claiming that AC Milan are keen on signing winger Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle United before the window closes.

According to FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna, the Milan management are interested in signing the 25-year-old Saint-Maximin and are readying a loan bid to sign him before the window shuts.

Newcastle have had an excellent season so far and are challenging for a top four spot but Saint-Maximin has struggled with injuries and has started in just four games out of the 12 Premier League appearances he has made this season.

Moreover, there are widespread rumours that Newcastle are in talks to sign winger Anthony Gordon from Everton who could well further reduce the game time available to Saint-Maximin if he were to arrive.

The report adds that Milan are preparing a bid for Saint-Maximin which would be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, but talks are also ongoing over a deal for Nicolò Zaniolo of Roma.

        1. Milan needs a lot of things right now, and left winger that wants to dribble pointlessly every time he touches the ball isn’t one of the things we need.

          1. “He can play” there as well is the most used phrase in Milan world today.
Dest can play on the left, we saw how well he can play there last night.
Saint Maximin is predominantly a left winger. Any player can be put to play in any position on the field , but the question is how good will he be at that other position.
Why don’t we play Leao on the right then or even better as a striker?

  1. For what ? To come and play what role and position? As a back up to Leao or what . We just seem Clueless on the market. i know M & M are not handed a big budget but some of the business they do is really awful. Makes me tremble at some of these rumours, cos we will never get the top players and we always end up with the less than average ones or players (who may be good) but we absolutely dont need. Why would i stay if i was Chaka Traore. And all this is coming after a title winning season, you would think that would be the propulsion we needed. Makes the squdetto look like a hoax, pathetic !
