GdS: Four clubs disappointed as Milan change Lazetic strategy due to Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have changed their plans regarding the future of Marko Lazetic as they are now willing to keep him around, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the management initially planned to send Lazetic out on a dry loan for the 2022-23 season, to allow him to play more consistently after he arrived last January from the Red Star for just under €5m but only made one brief appearance.

Cagliari, Empoli, Spezia and Torino have all expressed an interest in signing the young Serb, but they are all set to be disappointed. The paper writes that Lazetic is now not expected to leave Milan and instead will stay with the Primavera under the orders of the new coach Ignazio Abate.

This also comes with the added intention of being able to be called up for the first team in the right situations. Why this change of strategy? The purchase of Tommaso Mancini from Vicenza did not go through and he instead chose Juventus, and as such an exit has not been sanctioned.
