AC Milan are fighting on four different fronts this season, which will in itself be an immense test of their squad depth.
At present, Milan are some way off the pace in the Serie A standings and they sit in the play-off places in the Champions League, while their Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana campaigns are yet to begin.
With another season of 50+ games to come, the management will be scrutinised regarding the depth of the squad that they assembled, and there are already some obvious areas to improve.
Areas to improve
With Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana both working overtime, the number one priority appears to be a new central midfielder. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah have struggled a lot when deployed in a two-man midfield, while Kevin Zeroli and Silvano Vos are clearly not trusted.
The directors areĀ looking into potential reinforcements, and Morten Frendrup of Genoa has long beenĀ the first profile identified, but certainly not the only one. Very positive reviews have also arrived on Reda Belahyane of Hellas Verona, Moroccan but with an EU passport, having been born in France.
Another area where there will likely be some intervention is the left-back position, given how much Milan have struggled to find a reliable deputy in that particular position.
Milan encountered the issue when Theo had to serve a two-game ban following a red card for dissent in the 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina. Filippo Terracciano was used there while he was banned, while Davide Calabria and Alex Jimenez can play there too, but all are right-footed.
At the moment the main name mentioned has been Fabiano Parisi. He is third choice at Fiorentina, is Italian so would boost the squad list quota and could apparently arrive via a loan formula.
Italian football: How fans can best engage with their love of the sport
When it comes to watching games, in Italy there is now DAZN offering all matches. Sky meanwhile have 114 games throughout the Serie A season which are shown through a co-exclusivity agreement.
There are options to watch the games globally too, but for information it is best to check a guide which breaks down who has the rights for each country and/or region.
In terms of betting, it is also a good idea to check out no deposit bonus on registration in the Netherlands if you are from the country where Tijjani Reijnders, Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten et al. hailed from.
