From Belgium: Milan in talks with Gent over loan with option to buy deal for €25m-rated striker

Reports in Belgium have now backed up claims that AC Milan are interested in signing Roman Yaremchuk from KAA Gent.

Alessandro Jacobone reported earlier today that there are confirmed contacts between technical director Paolo Maldini and Gent for Yaremchuk. The player is “endorsed” by Shevchenko and could arrive on loan with option to buy at €15-16m.

According to both Sportwereld and Nieuwsblad (via FootballItalia), Milan have indeed approached Gent over the Ukraine international, who scored 20 goals and added 7 assists for the Belgian club in 34 league appearances last season.

Yaremchuk also has 10 goals in 26 senior caps for Ukraine, which is part of the reason why the Rossoneri – as per the reports – have made an initial approach and hope to sign him on loan with an option to buy set at €15-20m.

Gent want closer to €25m but a deal could be reached with the inclusion of add-ons. Yaremchuk is impressing under Andriy Shevchenko with Ukraine at the European Championships, scoring twice in two games for his country leading to some admiring glances.
