From Spain: Spurs and Leicester competing with Milan for Marseille star – the player’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

It appears as though AC Milan have competition in their pursuit of Marseille winger Florian Thauvin, at least according to reports in Spain.

The 27-year-old is currently under contract until the end of the season and there appears to be no sign of an imminent renewal, meaning he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer in June.

According to the latest from Estadio Deportivo, the player is in the orbit of Sevilla and Milan – both of whom have a concrete interest in signing him – but the Rossoneri have decided they are not interested in signing him early and will wait until Juve.

Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud had decided that he wanted to get rid of him before he left for free at the end of his contract, but the player instead insisted that he will not leave now and hopes to be able to collect a signing on bonus in June that substantially increases the amount he will receive.

However, Milan and Sevilla are not alone as Roma, Napoli, Leicester and Spurs are also interested and could potentially offer bigger salaries.
