AC Milan have been linked with a new target in their pursuit of a centre-back as Kim Min Jae of Fenerbahce is reportedly wanted by Paolo Maldini.
Milan have been linked with a number of different options with regards to bolstering the defence such as Sven Botman of Lille and Gleison Bremer of Torino, but in Turkey they believe that a new name has entered the Rossoneri’s radar.
According to reports from Milliyet (via PianetaMilan), Maldini has received positive scouting reports on Kim Min Jae to the extent that he has now put the 25-year-old South Korea international at the top of his wish list.
The Turkish source underlines how in the next few days official contacts could begin for the defender who has also been linked to Napoli, who are evaluating him as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.
The player’s current market value is €14m after a season in which he made 31 league appearances for the Istanbul club, plus 6 in the Europa League.
Yup. Bremer and Botman were too good to be true. Literally. Oh well. If Kim happens at least we know Tomori and Kalulu will be the starting pair next season for sure.

I mean we do not need a 40M CB with our current defenders, the move is fine. But it shows the future and how can we buy. Strike a deal instantly or be outpriced by someone.
I really am Glad that this happened. We don’t need neither Botman nor Bremer. What we really need is to renew Romagnoli and get a cheaper first team Quality CB just in case if Kjaer cannot regain his form, which is unlikely.
That way we will have 5 CBs and Gabbia as backup, so it’s more than enough unless there’s a career killing injury.
We need to focus more on RW and CAM. We still have no concrete signing. The way I see it, we are not getting CDK. His price is going up the more we delay.
So by the time we will finally move for get him, CDK would be 60 mil. We aint paying that. Either get him NOW when he is affordable. or look for alternative.
We can approach RW/CAM in two ways.
1. Buy talents for cheap and build them over time like Leao/Kalulu/Calabria/Tonali/Bennacer.
2. Spend money to buy established performers.
We should NOT dream of established players for cheap. That’s plain Stup*dity.
I actually like our model. Create young players and use them to get success by turning them into club legends slowly. Only Milan can do that. No other other clubs has so many one-club legends like Milan.
I have been watching Kim Min Jae performances this season, not only is he a decent defender that could get better and become world class.
He is also a scoring defender, very good on the ball, I know he plays in Turkey and that would have to be factored in, in comparison to Serie A and French league. However, I still believe he is better on the ball than Brehmer and Botman as per all three players perfomances imo.
As Milan build from the back it would be a great addition to our team. Not to mention if indeed it cost under 20 million Euros that’s would be bargain. Milan should get in now before other clubs, accoridng to reports/media, Tottenham are lurking around. Which means only one thing, unwanted competition that could inflate the player’s cost.
