AC Milan did at least end their miserable 2024-25 season with a win, beating an already relegated Monza side 2-0 on Saturday night.
For many Milan fans the season was over after the Coppa Italia final defeat against Bologna, and that was made clear by the mass protest that took place during last night’s game at San Siro, including a walk-out on 15 minutes.
It took until midway through the second half for the remaining supporters to see a goal, but Matteo Gabbia broke the deadlock with a header from a corner before Joao Felix whipped in a free-kick to make sure of the points.

Below is how the Italian newspapers look, with reference to Sergio Conceicao’s farewell and the pre-match comments from Giorgio Furlani on Tijjani Reijnders.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Reijnders: Milan raise a wall. Furlani: ‘Reinforcements and no sacrifices’. Goodbye to Conceicao. Useless victory against Monza.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Milan end the Conceicao era with a victory over Monza: goals by Gabbia and Joao Felix (2-0).”
Tuttosport: “Milan protest. From the headquarters to San Siro against the club. From Cardinale to Furlani and Ibra: all under accusation amid banners, chants and jeers.”
