AC Milan returned to winning ways on Saturday night as they beat Lombardy neighbours 1-0 at the U-Power Stadium thanks to a goal from Tijjani Reijnders.
In truth it was far from a classic but Monza perhaps should have been in the lead before Milan got the opening goal having spurned several chances. However, Reijnders pounced on a blocked attempt from Alvaro Morata to head home the only goal of the game just before the break.
Below are how the Italian papers have reacted to the result…
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan get back up. First away win, Fonseca breathes. Reijnders goal, Leao plays for 30 minutes but has no impact. One Monza goal disallowed, Nesta’s rage: ‘They ruin football’.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Milan sprint, Nesta’s fury. Reijnders beats Monza (0-1). Dany Mota’s goal was disallowed, and Leao was wasteful as a reserve.”
Tuttosport: “Fonseca gets away with it, but Monza are furious. Inexplicable Monza goal disallowed at 0-0. Nesta: ‘Crazy rules.’ Real on Tuesday.”
