CM: Furlani to meet Tare again while waiting for D’Amico – operability issue emerges

The search for AC Milan’s new sporting director risks turning into a soap opera if it hasn’t already, with no decision having arrived yet.

As Calciomercato.com recall, it seems that Fabio Paratici was the chosen one before talks fell apart at an advanced stage. Then it looked like the leadership had pivoted to Igli Tare, with whom a meeting took place at the end of February in London and recently with Giorgio Furlani in Rome.

Furlani intends to see Tare face to face again in the next 48 hours. The feeling is that the CEO wants to keep this option open, even though it is clearly less strong than others, because he is waiting for signals from Bergamo.

More precisely he wants to hear from Tony D’Amico, the sporting director at Atalanta who was recently awarded as the best in his role last season. Given Tare is free and D’Amico requires persuading, it could be implied that the latter is favoured.

In all interviews done so far Furlani has explained to the candidates what the vision of the club is from a planning and economic point of view, reiterating a concept that is so clear to the American ownership: at Milan you work as a team.

There is also a further issue that the candidates are having difficulty absorbing: the boundaries of their operating power. In essence, Furlani also wants a say on transfer decisions, without forgetting that then everything passes through the approval of the headquarters in London.

The ending of this story has been postponed to May. D’Amico remains ahead in the approval rating, but Tare could have a final push at any minute. The fact things are taking so long puts Milan in an uncomfortable position in view of next season.

  1. why is this man having a say on transfers? he completely messed up everything he touched. he is better off selling add spaces and sponsorships. count up and crunch numbers, get out the way.

If i could i would trade that 19th scudetto so i dont have to read these news everyday of furlani and redbird destroying milan. Its like we sold our soul or something

  3. it doesn’t matter who the next sporting director is, as long as crapbird & jerry still owns this club, i have no expectations.

In the meantime, Juve is very ambitious to sign Tonali (proven player) for next season, while this club is only targeting players like the next Felix or Gimenez.

  4. Furlani is as incompetent as a 3yr old boy child. Good grief. Milan has an internal war between redturd and Elliott. This is why no decisions can be made. This bozo was pursuing Paratici who has a ban and criminal charges still pending. Any fan of Milan knows that Paratici was a bad option except for Furlani.

  5. Furlni at his finest…. Tare.. D’Amico… No Tare again… No but wait, I want to try D’Amico again… Amateurish.

Go get Tare, go get Max or whoever and get going.

  6. Never Ending Storyyyyy.

I guess 🤔 We will have a New Pope before my AC Milan will have a Sporting Director.

They said after Easter 🐣 now after the Derby to know AC Milan fate. Then probably 1st May….. Keith 🇲🇹
