CEO Giorgio Furlani is about to get into the heart of picking AC Milan’s next sporting director, and Tony D’Amico’s name remains standing.
As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, until a week ago there was a rush to find out who could be the new sporting director at Milan. Furlani’s trip to the USA to meet Gerry Cardinale changed things though, and the pursuit will now take place in a more calm way.
In short, there is no rush. Making a wrong decision on an issue such as this could also negatively impact next season and beyond for the Rossoneri. Given this, it is difficult to think that the choice will be made after just one meeting with the main candidates.
More will be needed, which is why things will be done in the right time. Igli Tare and Fabio Paratici are the most popular names, but the paper adds that Furlani has had a meeting with D’Amico, who has been working for Atalanta since 2022.
The names of Paratici, Tare and D’Amico show a clear intention to hire a director with a strong knowledge of Italian football and experience within it, who has the ability to select players and manage them between the dressing room, training ground and in tough moments.
Furthermore, the CEO wants the next SD to have broad views and the ability to move on a broader spectrum in the sporting area. In all of this, foreign solutions cannot be ruled out, even if at the moment this option is slightly more unlikely.
This cockehead is 2 yrs too late to get Atalanta SD. The guy you’re looking for is already at Bologna.
Yes Bolongna SD is good one but D,amico is criminal he killed Atlanta money for rubbish players
You either don’t watch Atalanta play or you don’t understand what you’re looking at. A small club from Bergamo is third behind Inter and Napoli precisely because of the work D’Amico has been doing with Gasp.
But yeah, keep talking that nonsense.
D,amico is the worst we don’t need that rubbish we don’t want to be another Atlanta all they have is gasperini all other stuff is rubbish from everything out of 26 players they bought Ederson is the only player they have we do have better players but we are lacking better couch they must try to bring gasperini and we are good to go
This is a very naive take. D’amico is far from the worst and Atalanta have a very well constructed squad with players who were home grown or hand selected to fit the system, coach and budget. They are easily the 3 best squad in the league and that didn’t happen by chance.
Atlanta well structured hhhh d,amico is guilty of wasting money for rubbish players take gasperini out of that squad then you will see what happens
Gasperini is all we need to succeed
The SD they choose will tell us a lot about where we are heading.
Bring back Maldini and Massara.
Put Ibra as ambassador of Milan only
Gasperini work is what you counting there is nothing special at Atlanta other than Gasperini you will watch when he leaves they will go to division serie b d,amico is nonsense money killer
