AC Milan are not giving up on signing Mario Gila from Lazio, with Giorgio Furlani leading negotiations to get a deal done in January.

Milan have been linked with a number of different centre-back options in the winter window, with the management working to try and get another experienced option for Massimiliano Allegri. One name that has been linked more than most is Gila, who seems to be heading for the exit door.

Acceleration for Gila

As LaLazioSiamoNoi report, Gila’s contract expires in June 2027, and there’s no scope for a renewal with Lazio. For this reason, director Igli Tare had already contacted his entourage regarding a possible immediate move to Milan, i.e. in January not in the summer.

In fact, it is the CEO Giorgi Furlani is personally leading the negotiations. Before Lazio’s match against Como, he met with president Claudio Lotito to discuss the figures. The Biancocelesti’s asking price is €16m, the Rossoneri’s offer is €11m: there’s still a gap, but the deal is underway.

In the event of a sale, Lazio will have to give 50% of the final price to Real Madrid, who retained a percentage of future resale when they agreed to sell him. It was Tare who brought him to Rome at the time, and now he could sign him again at Milan.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Jacobone reports the following: “Tare’s work continues in the attempt to outpace the competitors for the Biancocelesti’s central defender. The Rossoneri are pushing to settle it now, regardless of the decision – whether January or June – regarding his arrival at Milanello.”

  1. bro 16m for gila sounds pretty good especially when we are wanting 40m for fofana and 15m for RLC. lets try close the deal for 13-14m

    1. 6 CBs is a bit overkill… Barte can play as LCB

makes more sense to sign Fortini instead who can play at both flanks, since Estupinan has been shaky.

  2. give them RLC + 5M

then sign either Casado or Perrone

if Nkunku-Mateta swaps works out great, if not still A+ for winter market!

    1. It beats me always. We read alot of articles about over bargaining on players when the margins aren’t great. Just pay the money and move on before another team swoops in.

  3. If we really wanted Gila and the asking price was 16mil, i think we would’ve bought him, especially if-as this article claims- we are prepared to put down at least 11mil.
I don’t think this will go anywhere.
