GdS: After Gabbia, Theo is next – the details of his imminent renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made it their mission to lock up the core for the future by entering into various negotiations over renewals, and it seems that they are close to announcing more contract extensions.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), only an official announcement is missing regarding Theo Hernandez’s contract renewal with Milan because everything has been tied up. The Frenchman will soon sign a new agreement until 2026 and will earn €4m net per season, almost triple compared to the current €1.5m.

Matteo Gabbia’s signature arrived yesterday until 2026 and the official status of Theo is expected in the next few days, which could arrive perhaps after the derby, and it would be another sign from the top that Milan are not just about building and replacing but also about consolidating.

He arrived in the summer of 2019 for €20m from Real Madrid and has become one of the best full-backs in the world since. Agreeing an extension with Theo was one of the priorities of the leadership, who are now working to find a meeting point with Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer too.

  1. We understand Gabbia was priority, Theo and Leao can wait, just remember that Leao has only 2 years contract left. Not everyone is Tonali, just remember what fake presidente was talking when he was 2 years contract left and what he is doing now.Money changes people and they will be offered a lot of money by other teams.
