Tuttosport: ‘Gambled away the trust’ – Milan left red faced after San Siro whistles

Stefano Pioli left a platform to build upon at the end of last season, but AC Milan have seemingly found a way to weaken the squad, even whilst spending nearly €100 million.

Saturday was a concoction of everything so far in Milan’s season. A reaction that had been brewing, even if the result wasn’t that bad. As Tuttosport (via Milan Press) writes, in another season, the result probably wouldn’t be considered a bad one, nevertheless, the situation this season has meant that the Rossoneri could not throw away a chance to gain valuable points.

Had the Diavolo won the game against Bologna (which is still yet to be played), maybe the situation wouldn’t be at the point it is. However, we cannot go on hypotheses, we must look at facts and right now, the facts are bleak.

Poor results against Parma, Torino and Cagliari have cost the team seven points – points that would have maybe allowed a draw against Juventus. The fans are left looking at games thinking it should’ve been, it could’ve been.

Due to the shoulds and coulds of the season, anger and frustration were displayed as San Siro jeered the players. However, the paper suggests players like Emerson Royal, who received the brunt of the jeers, are an easy target, a visible face to direct the anger to rather than the management.

Instead of being frustrated at the player, the frustration may be towards those who deemed, in this case, the Brazilian to be an upgrade.

Regardless of whom it was directed towards, the feelings of the fans have been shown and the management have ‘gambled away the trust’ that had been earned in recent years, a feeling that will only grow without reasons to slow, and it must start tomorrow night against Slovan Bratislava.

  1. Furlani – 0 knowledge about football, nickname: judah ,best skills: crying to his sugardaddy cardinale and betraying coleague

Ibra- cardinale’s Chihuahua, you can’t trust that much to a player who played for all milan, inter and juventus, best skills:talking to much while winnining and hiding in the hole while losing

Cardinale- 0 knowledge about football, italian who wants to be american more than the real americans wants

Moncada- a scout who should stay as a scout, also judah, best skills:backstabbing a friends

    1. And also,
all of them have zero knowledge on football management level. (which is the most essential)

you know what they are really good at in common? – Taking that press picture.

Like someone was singing after the last CL game: “let’s hope we win the next game.” /haha

    2. Furlani was hired buy Eliot and even know works for Eliot.

You’re supposed to be Milan fan and don’t even know that?

      Cardinale is an American…

      Moncada is a m0r0n.

    1. Bring back Boban and Leonardo.
Neither of those two have worked under Gerry.
Plus they both have good contacts with FIGC and UEFA.
The current management is not respected by Serie A or by UEFA, bring in personnel that are.

I won’t even mention Maldini or Massara since they’ll never come back whilst Gerry is in charge.

      1. You want Milan to pander to FIGC? The organization that killed calcio? The organization that spends more time facilitating corruption than fighting it? That’s a very daft opinion. Also both of Leonardo’s tenures were bad…

      2. No. Boban just settled his lawsuit against Milan and Leonardo is not good. All the latter did was spend a lot of money with no real return at both Milan and PSG. Soup should only be heated once.

Get Tony D’Amico from Atalanta, or Sean Sogliano from Verona.

  2. These clown are destroying what Maldini, Masara, and Pioli already build. So yeah, thanks Cardinale, Furlani, Ibra, and Moncada.

  3. These guys went against even their own principles. If they always wanted top 4 then simply stick with Pioli for the long term. They threw 11 new players at him last season and still did admirably. Now they went for a cheaper and therefore less quality coach (turns out to be in this case) with no guarantee of top 4 aka UCL money. Fonseca encapsulates their whole strategy….buy for cheap with the hope it MIGHT just work out right. Instead of working out like Pulisic, we have a Loftus coach
