Atalanta have been the story of this Serie A season for all of the right reasons, unfortunately, AC Milan have been the polar opposite.
Coming into this season, many had hopes for a Scudetto fight that involved Milan, but it quickly became apparent that this would not be the case. Within the first month of the season, the Rossoneri were miles away, and this distance has only grown as the season has progressed.
Unfortunately, the secondary target, the Champions League, also began to slip, and now it is immensely unlikely that the Diavolo will feature in Europe’s premier competition next season, and there is even a chance that the Europa League may not be reached.
For Atalanta, though, the story is much different, and their season has been what many would have hoped from Milan – contending for the Scudetto with an exciting team.
Yesterday, Gian Piero Gasperini, the mastermind behind the team, spoke about his team’s chances of securing Champions League football against the Rossoneri, and Milan News have relayed his words.
“Putting Bologna four points behind with six days to go says it all about the importance of today’s win. More or less at 70 points, Champions League qualification is almost certain: with a great result against AC Milan, it would be easier.”
Need a big win for Atalanta to finish off this thing passing itself off as AC Milan.
Everyone needs to go. We need a revolution.
I agree with you. The ACM we see today isn’t the mighty club that once seriously competed for the highest honors in European and world football.
The word ‘revolution’ has been drained of meaning when used lately in relation to ACM. Until there’s a new owner with truly deep pockets, lofty ambition, and genuine football knowledge pulling the strings at the club, all talk of a revolution at ACM is simply idle speculation – a chimera.
The Red bird has to fly away before the Rossoneri phoenix can rise from the ashes.
I don’t need a new owner with money, I need a new owner with common decency.
We spend whatever we spend. And if we don’t have it we back our youth players.
Gas is a leach hanging on for Milan to do him a favour HAHA Gas you are all Gas.
I hope Milan beat you’re team well and good. We know how much you dislike Milan and a win to the Rosso Neri will define your season just like last year when Milan beat you and your coaching. We did it to Juve and Inter in Super Cup when it counted!
