AC Milan make the short trip to face Como on Tuesday evening, hoping to get Sergio Conceicao’s first league win since taking over.
That first victory in Serie A should have come on Saturday against a Cagliari side who are in the bottom three, yet Alvaro Morata’s opening goal was cancelled out a few minutes later and the end result was a 1-1 draw.

Milan therefore have to put things right against Como, who are also struggling after returning to the top flight following a 21-year hiatus. The Champions League spots have not disappeared just yet, but the runway gets shorter with each passing week.
The predicted starting XIs
Conceicao will be without three players for the game due to injury: Alessandro Florenzi, Samuel Chukwueze and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The right-back is expected to be 50 days away from recovery, the winger 15 and the midfielder 10.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Emerson Royal will come back in at right-back after serving a suspension on Saturday. The rest of the rearguard will remain the same.
There will be an alteration in the middle of the park, with Ismael Bennacer expected to be the right mezzala in a three-man midfield alongside Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders.
The third and final change will be in attack, with Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao tipped to flank Tammy Abraham rather than Alvaro Morata, despite the Englishman missing big chances a few days ago.
Predicted Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan, Emerson, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Abraham, Leao.

Hopefully see Camarda get minutes, he is a better finisher than the rest of them or even Jovic. At least those 2 know how to stick the ball in the net
I’m surprised that Conceicao hasn’t given him any minutes yet, like you, I believe he’s more clinical in finishing, look to see him get a few minutes if we were to pull ahead convincingly.
Gabbia is fine. He’s on the bench. Conceicao just doesn’t want to play him. Oh well.

Calabria obviously had a better game than Emerson ever did this season, and Gabbia had been playing better than any CB we have!
Let’s all calm down. Conceiciao will still use Gabbia. It is just a matter of time. For now, the coach prefers Tomori bacuase he is most suitable for high line. Pioli and Fonsesca did the same before realising that they have been leaving the best centre back in our team on the bench.
You might want to consider the possibility that you might be wrong…
Again, it is now two different coaches who see these players everyday that pick Emerson over Calabria. Is Conceicao now a complete fool, just like Fonseca? Or maybe, just maybe, these professional coaches that spent their entire lives playing and coaching football know more than people who just watch it on TV.
Just throwing that possibility out there, as crazy as it may seem.

The difference in quality is miniscule. But since Calabria is on his way out anyway, it makes more sense to give Emerson minutes unfortunately, hoping for an improvement.

Do you suppose 11 Italian players would be better? I’m an American and have been a Milan fan since childhood. I don’t care what nationality are playing for us. I support them all and results are what really matters. I do feel Gabbia is our best CB and should start. But enough with this “foreigner” nonsense. We are all Milan!!!
Milan are an Italian team and should always have at least a couple of Italian players playing.
It is important for every team to have some homegrown players that have passion for the club and can help indoctrinate foreign players into what it means to represent such a club.
Aside from the fact Milan play in Italy and therefore the majority of supporters who go to games home and away are Italian.
