GdS: Cagliari prepare for loss of star to West Ham for €40m by reading bid for Milan midfielder

Cagliari are ready to launch a move to sign Milan midfielder Rade Krunic if they lose Naithan Nandez to West Ham, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, the Sardinian side are preparing for the eventuality of losing star midfielder Nandez to West Ham in a €40m deal, and have targeted Krunic as his potential replacement.

Cagliari are apparently readying an offer of around €10-12m, which would represent a capital gain for Milan who bought him for €8m during the summer.

Krunic has made just nine appearances in Serie A since joining from Empoli and has not been an established starter at any point, however he is arguably one of only three midfielders in the current Rossoneri squad capable of playing in the centre of a 4-4-2, the others being Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie.

That means a replacement would be needed, and Schira claims that Krunic’s departure could see the Rossoneri complete a move for Benfica’s Florentino Luis on loan with option to buy set at €40m.
