AC Milan face a battle when they sit down to negotiation Alessio Romagnoli’s renewal, a report claims, but there are positive signs.
As Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport notes (via MilanLive), the renewal of Romagnoli is not an urgency like that of Gianluigi Donnarumma but it will soon have to be dealt with to avoid a situation like the one Milan are currently experiencing with their goalkeeper.
The Rossoneri are expected to accelerate soon regarding a new deal for the captain, but at the moment everything is silent. There will still be a battle with his entourage to get Romagnoli to commit his future to the club, as agent Mino Raiola will likely ask for a pay rise from the current €3.5m-a-year his client earns.
However there is positive news, as the paper adds that Romagnoli is one of the few cases for which Elliott Management Corporation have provided for a financial derogation.
It would not be possible to raise his salary by a lot due to the economic limits imposed, but also a pay cut is not necessary.
