GdS: Elliott willing to invest as Milan’s stance on signing a new striker is outlined

By Oliver Fisher -

The signing of a new striker is not considered a priority for AC Milan as they have two other positions to address first, a report claims.

As today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MilanLive), several strikers have already been linked to Milan as speculation persists that a deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic could well be on the wish list.

The first was Luka Jovic of Real Madrid, and then there was Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo (valued at €20-25m) and also Edouard of Celtic, whose price is around €30m.

The paper explains that the search for a deputy Ibrahimovic is not at the moment a priority for Milan as directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara want to sign a centre-back first, and then a midfielder.

Elliott Management will spend if there is an opportunity to be seized but a striker would have to fit in line with the club’s vision, i.e. a solution that is also one in view of the future.

The club are also not interested in a centre-forward for only six months, but someone who can grow behind Ibra and be a resource for the future as well.
