GdS: Fiorentina could protect star with €60-70m clause to fend off Milan, Liverpool and Man Utd

Fiorentina are plotting a counter measure to try and fend off the interest of some top clubs in striker Dusan Vlahovic, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reveals Fiorentina’s economic strategy to try to keep Vlahovic beyond the summer. La Viola plan to offer him bumper new deal worth €3m net per season and a contractual extension until 2025.

The Serbia international is currently contract to the Florence-based club until 2023, while the proposal is one that could suit Vlahovic, given that his initial request was €2.5m per season. Fiorentina initially offered €2m and this proposal was rejected by the player.

Fiorentina could also grant the 21-year-old and his agent the insertion of a not very high release clause, set at around €60-70m – a figure deemed close to its current market value. The most concrete idea is that the player stays in Florence for at least another year.

It is a proactive move from Fiorentina, especially given that il Corriere dello Sport (via Calcioemercato.com) recently reported that Milan, Roma, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City all want Vlahovic.
