GdS: Giroud and Theo continue to struggle after leaving a lot of energy in Qatar

Two of AC Milan’s main performers have been virtually missing since the World Cup break and it is one of the factors hurting the team, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) writes that Milan’s problems are now far too deep to be able to point at individuals as being the cause of the issues, but examining Milan’s delicate moment turns the spotlight on Giroud and Theo Hernandez.

Theo is nicknamed the TGV by many because of his lighting speed and his direct runs that make Milan’s attacking play so unpredictable, but at the moment the high-speed train is stuck in a siding.

Then there is Giroud, the one who scored 2 goals in 3 minutes a year ago to turn the derby on its head. Yesterday, in the same minute, he had a massive chance to make it 1-1 and the first touch let him down.

Both players came back disappointed from Qatar having lost in the World Cup final, but then fact Theo is struggling and Giroud has scored only one goal since returning (to make it 1-2 vs. Sassuolo) is a sign that they left a lot of energy in Qatar.
