GdS: Ibrahimovic, Furlani and Moncada working to build a ‘better Milan’ – the details

As the summer rapidly approaches, preparation for the mercato is reaching its final points. Of course, things can change during the window, but for AC Milan, plans must be in place now if success is to be achieved.

There have been many negatives this season, but it is vital to also seek the positives, and there are several. Milan’s 2023 summer mercato was superb. Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders have been pivotal this season, and there have been several positive signs from others.

Following on from the 2022 summer window, expectations were high but met. However, that needs to be replicated, given a bar has been set.

It will not be easy, though, and several areas need to be targeted, as Gazzetta dello Sport writes.

The first port of call is arranging the successor of Stefano Pioli. Reports have suggested in recent days that the process is near its conclusion, but nothing has been finalised in the current moment. Instead, the list has been shortened, and there are two key contenders.

Without a doubt, the most important variable is the coach’s ability to earn results, but another factor must be taken into account – the ability to improve talent, young and old. Under Pioli, several players have shone when they didn’t shine upon arrival, therefore, this trait must be held.

Following the appointment of a new head coach, the club needs a new striker, and this is the primary objective of the mercato. Like with Stefano Pioli, Milan no longer have their safety net – in this case, Olivier Giroud – and must look to the future with a new talisman.

Several profiles have been identified, and the current favourites are Benjamin Sesko, Joshua Zirkzee, and Serhou Guirassy, whose stocks have risen in recent days. With a budget of €50 million, there is a lot of risk attached to the position, but the management are confident.

Another goal is to create bridges between the senior team and the Primavera, the B team is no longer an idea but a concrete reality, and Milan wants to create pathways for several players within the academy into a first-team scenario.

Ultimately, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada are working towards creating a ‘better’ and more complete Milan, and with these plans, the future looks bright under their guidance.

  1. Don Vito de Palma affirms that Jürgen Klopp gave his OK to take Milan in 2025-2026 season. He wants to respect Liverpool and not coach a direct and historical rival.

All the names including Lopetegui’s were a smoke screen, it’s rumored that Milan is trying to convince Klopp to take the team this summer.

    It’s Klopp.

    1. Since when was Liverpoop a direct and historical rival to Mlan?
Before 2005 there wasn’t much of a story with Milan and Liverpool, and after 2007 until now there is no story either

    2. They would just keep Pioli for another year if that was the case instead of hiring someone for only a year. They won’t pay Klopp while this coach has a 3 year deal and us buying him out after the first year.

      1. Yeah let’s just spend like mad. Look at how it’s working out for the Premier league now. A major crackdown on illegal spending is happening. City will be relegated and facing financial disaster.

        1. Defending cheapskate owner who won’t even pay decently for a good coach. Pathetic.

Cardinale is here to make money, not to make Milan win.

        2. Who’s talking about spending millions lol. A good project starts with a good coach. We have built something and we expect Fonesca to take us to the next level?? If you think so you are as lost as our owners and directors Ibra included ( if true about Fonesca I lose all the respect to him). A club that can’t even invest in a proper coach is a mid table team. Go check under Romanos post for Fonesca – whole twitter is making fun of us cause this management made us look like clowns 🤡!!! Just look at that clowns statistics – he hasn’t achieved shit all the only thing we will do is scrape a top 4 in the next years and that’s it

  2. I take a lot of comfort from this article. Looking forward….after a lot of very depressing stories…so much for journalism 😕.

    1. What would that change?
The problem here is cheapskate Cardinale

Zidane is free, but Cardinale is broke
So at best we will get Van Bommel who is an unproven coach

      1. Cardinale is broke lmao? You’re clueless. Buddy… you want us to spend like Man City. Now City could be relegated after a major crackdown on irregularities in the Premier league.

Cardinale is being smart. This club nearly was ruined after a conman took it over after Berlusconi left.

        1. Cardinale bought the club for a billion to make profit off of it.
We are being run like a small club.
          He is a broke clown.

          1. Be positive, we re playing in Europe for three years now. Last year semi final in Champions league. We re doing well

    2. Furlani working under elliot not redbird. Furlani in CEO position to make sure Redbird pay their debt 600m euro to elliot . Redbird can not sacking Furlani

  3. Man City has been brought up on 115 charges of financial irregularities and faces a very likely prospect of relegation and financial disaster, along with being striped of their title. The Premier League is facing a crackdown.

We are on a path of financial stability and let’s not stray from that.

      1. You have the financial understanding of a child. The teams winning real trophies are Man City, who will be decimated by sanctions, Real Madrid and Bayern. The latter two have vast financial resources because they’ve been well run for decades. We’ve been debt free for ONE SEASON. Dortmund, who are in another UCL, were heavily in debt in the 2000s, but have slowly climbed out of that hole by developing and selling on young talent. Now instead of embarrassing yourself further, I strongly suggest remaining silent.

          1. Sure, a senior official is going to read posts made by randos in another language and reply to them. Are you capable of engaging your brain before typing? Go and get yourself educated, you complete and utter embarrassment.

        1. Keep gargling that corporate cum, kiddo
You enjoy winning financial trophies while Milan is treated b its owners like Chievo

Berlusconi treated Milan like a beautiful woman
Redbird treats Milan like an ugly skank

    1. I don’t think the EPL have the balls to relegate City, but heavy fines and a massive points penalty are likely and that will be enough to see Guardiola and some others leave. Maybe we can tempt Guardiola…
