GdS: Juventus set to win race for Vicenza striker with Milan and Roma resigned

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to have missed out on the signing of young striker Tommaso Mancini with Juventus now close to signing him, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reveals that a potential move to Milan looked on the cards but fell apart, and then Roma seemed to be the closest club to buying the Vicenza teenager, but now it is Juve who are tipped to win the race.

Mancini initially preferred the idea of joining Rossoneri over the Bianconceri but in the last few days something has changed. Juve fought hard to sign the 18-year-old by working with his entourage and now he has changed his mind.

An agreement now seems very close, both between the clubs and between the player and Juve. The Bianconeri have satisfied the requests of Tommaso Mancini on personal terms, with the player represented by his parents, and as such closure should occur soon.

  1. I wont lose any sleep over a youth player choosing money over his football development, just shows he is not the type of player you want at the club, gl to him.

    1. Or maybe he chose both money and football development . It’s not like Milan youth system has been exemplary the last several years. They got relegated couple of years ago , and barely avoided relegation this past season.

      1. Like I said I wont lose any sleep over it, we already have, Nasti, Lazetic in his age bracket and we also have the most prolific youth striker in his age bracket just a few years younger than those in Francesco Camarda, I think we are fine for youth forwards and should focus on developing them. Gl to him and his family at Juve, we dont need another donnarummer situation where we have to give bonuses to family members just to have the honor of developing them until they demand more than they are worth.

  2. Given the reported salary he is being given where he would be in the upper half of earners in the Milan squad, I can see why Milan lost out. Makes no sense to give a player who is that unproven such a high salary. How would that look to the rest of the club who earns less?

    1. “The figures of the deal are understand to be in the ballpark of around €2.5-3m” – Football Italia is the source.

      1. Nevermind, just realized that is the transfer fee after rereading. Please disregard all my comments on this subject. 😂

  3. Let’s move on quickly from this.
Not even bothered one bit, we have our own Nasti and Colombo to develop… let’s not fail our boys and go out to buy players their own age, I forgot Lazetic as well.
    We’re sorted in that department.
    ForzaMilan…
