Simon Kjaer feels a great attachment to AC Milan so much so that he wishes to end his career at the club and sign a renewal, a report claims.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Kjaer has expressed the desire to end his playing career at Milan having joined the club on an initial loan deal during the January 2020 window.

The Danish centre-back – who will turn 35 in March – is a leader in the dressing room and after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure he wants to continue to play the role of mentor to the youngest players in the squad.
His current contract runs out in June 2024 and his salary amounts to approximately €1.5m net per season, a figure that can be further lowered to extend Kjaer’s stay with the Rossoneri by at least another season.
That would thus give him the possibility of retiring at the team that has enhanced him more than any other during his career. However, with that there must come an acceptance that he is no longer in the top two or three centre-backs in the hierarchy.
The arrival of Marco Pellegrino and the return of Matteo Gabbia from loan next summer will potentially clog the centre-back position, meaning Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani will therefore have to make some choices.

Honestly he and Florenzi should have been the first players out of the door this season, he does not deserve to be in this team…
and you don’t deserve to be a fan, fking disrespectful
I can swear with my life I was a Milan Fan before you were even born, he is injury prone and a liability to the team, even in his National team he is not a starter, better players have been let go before him, do you honestly believe he can 100% face PSG , Inter or Napoli….and the most annoying thing is people don’t mind their business, I have a right to express my thoughts, so move over with the petulant attitude….
Im from denmark and you clearly doesnt know what you are talking about because Kjær is the danish international team captain so i can pretty much guarantee you that he will start if he isnt injured.
A Wanker like you deserves to be a fan….?
Boulden is not milan fan he is some low life person who doesn’t have anything to add to argument so start insult to milan fans , ignore his cry for attention is the best way on dealing with ppl like him ,
While I completely agree on your take about @Boulden who is likely just @Pioli but under a new name LOL – I don’t think it would have been wise to get rid of Kajer this season. Experience and leadership count and he is a figure well respected and needed to mentor so many of our young CB defenders – Thiaw, Kalulu, Pellegrino, Gabbia. Simic etc…all still very young and all can learn how to be a professional from Kajer. He makes a reasonable salary (1.5M) and im sure would reduce even further to retire at Milan (as opposed to Florence (3M) who is overpriced and should be let go after this season). But Kajer is definitely a voice we still need in the locker room and an experienced battled tested warrior who is positive to have around as 4th or 5th choice for another season IMO
Why are usually muslims and Africans the one with the most stupid comments? (Ofc big thank you to the ones who aren’t like that)
How can you be so appreciative to them? Kjaer was one of the most important pieces in our scudetto triumph and UCL run. Such a pity some fans think about them in this way.
Hey Usman, gtfo here and go support Juve or something.
Florenzi can only be replaced with association trained player, good luck finding a better one without spending a lot.
If you being a fan before Jesus was born and still think like that, you may have to think about how you think
You better shut up, you inbred wanker, wanker….Ponce…!!
I totally disagree with you on this!!!! Kjaer has been outstanding for Milan aside the injury that disrupted him last season.. Florenzi on the Scudetto season was awesome too, just a bit of the long injury last season too that brought in Dest who didn’t cover up at all.
“Honestly he and Florenzi should have been the first players out of the door this season”
Honestly you don’t seem to understand football that much now do you?
I like this. He’s currently on 1.9M per year. If we can reduce this, he can be a valuable asset: experience, leadership, and occasional great performance (like against Spurs)
We won’t get any good transfer fee from him so I think this is a no-brainer.
Kjaer is still needed to lead these young players, not just in the dressing room but also as a mentor in the field.
I say one more year is fair for him, especially when he never complaint nor make a drama.
Kjaer is still one of Milan’s best CB.
He is still good and play well against team that does not have much pace in their front three, not saying he should play against PSG or Inter but we will have many fixtures this season and we need the depth and quality. Some people just don’t understand this lol.
He is not good enough . Thank you and goodbye
If he is cool with being the 4th choice thats an easy yes. Do it
No you GTFO out of here, I know people like you, who are fans only when the team is playing badly, where were you in the 80’s when we were relegated, where were you in 1991 when we lost the UCL BCOS of floodlight failure, where were you when we lost to Ajax thrice in a season, where were you during 97/98 crisis, when Juve beat us 6-1 in the San Siro, I have lived many lifetimes as a Milan Fan, I have seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows , so don’t ever speak to me like that, I have a right toy opinions and thoughts, if you can’t handle the truth, then leave, or keep your dirty mouth shut.
Ugh these boomers think they know better than everyone else lol. If a player who never complains about his playing time, is on low wages, still wants to contribute to the team at age of 34, is a big influence in the locker room then you need some serious help. I know old age can lead to some mental disorders but this is not the place to express it. You are just embarrassing yourself lol. Idiots who think they know better than the management.
The kind of old age , and mental disorder both your father and mother have, mind your business you inbred trash…shut up and mind your business…
you said you have the right to your opinions and thoughts and then you said that “we” cant handle the truth.
Does that mean your opinions and thoughts are in fact not opinions and thoughts but the truth?
Seems like a ball of steaming bs 2 me..
just shut up instead. you also have a right to that…
Bla bla fvckin bla.
I’m a Milan fans since the 90’s and i rarely see / meet long time Milan fans who act so disrepectful towards Milan players that won trophies with Milan like you did.
So get the fvck outta here with your bullsh*t. No one believe dumbass and disrepectful kids like you as a long time Milan fans since the 80’s.
I don’t know how the old geezer of today can behave like smelly kids. They possess experiences, knowledge, and intellect, but often lack the wisdom to guide them. It’s a reminder that having the tools is not the same as knowing how to use them wisely. In my knowledge, Kjaer has become a reliable defender and mentor for many AC Milan young player, even though he faced criticism just like you did earlier. His experience and contributions shouldn’t be overlooked based on one season. Still, he is Milan olayer currentlt. Also, just let the management decide about his soon expiring contract, they know better than you in this part. No offense, thank you.
@Usman, its understandable how u feel but the choice of words i think didnt convey the feeling like u ‘appreciate’ all the work Kjaer is doing for the overall team. U dont say a player who has been giving his all as a player, a mentor and a reference point of the team ‘to be thrown out the door’…although from a pragmatic POV i get u. but like flying turtle said if he’s cool with a year deal and a lower salary den no problem…
What happened to players like Albertini, Ambrosini,Lentini,Abate,Pirlo,Rui Costa and others, they left the club unceremoniously, having a player who does not match the current requirements should leave, younger and better players have been let go, who later became stars …
If you want your opinion respected you also have to respect others as well even if you disagree. Just food for thought friend. Sounds like You favor youth only policy – others favor a balance. Agree to disagree. No problem. We kept Ibra for another year even tho he could no longer play. Kajer still can at least according to most. I would rather have Kajer start than a raw Pelligrino who has never played in UCL or Serie A. So I’m glad we kept him this season. Just my opinion.
What we all seem to agree on is our opinion about @Boulden/@Pioli lol 😂😂😂😂
Cheers
“If you want your opinion respected you also have to respect others as well even if you disagree. Just food for thought friend.”
Can you say you ALWAYS follow your own advice 🙂
LOL. For sure, for sure! That’s why he uses words like donkey and the classic LOLOLOLOL in every other post. 😀 😀 😀 😀
After Ibra (and Maldini) left, what we lack in this Milan team is a reference figure. And Kjaer is a perfect example. Also don’t forget that the ‘new’ Milan circle was started with him and Ibra (yes, experience figures) joined and rejoined the club.
and Usman i believe we all knew how their unceremoniuos departure affected us. that led to a downward spiral which lin turn led to the banter-era..pirlo left and became a force in the juventus midfield dat tormented us for how long?…because of no reference point and senior figures in the dressing room the milan in the ara after all these stars left was a ghost comparewd to wat we were used to..do u want dat right now usman? how would Leao, bennacer, theo, claabria, even kessie and calhanoglu who are no longer with us, how would dey have made the leap in quality if not for senior figures like Ibra, Kjaer and Co who groomed, supported, pushed and mentored dem…
Milan need to move on from Kjaer next season. As a matter of fact we need to consider locking down his replacement as early as January.
Someone who can challenge Tomori for a starting spot like Kevin Danso or Konstantinos Koulierakis.
It would be nice to get both Danso and Konstantinos Koulierakis because Kalulu should move to RB.
Send him to Milan B +*cough i mean Monza.
If he stays likely he would be like 4th-5th in pecking order… mostly there as a player / defense-coach
I think The Great Dane belongs on our training staff. You don’t have to take the field to train the younger players and have an impact on their development. Not sure actually fielding him is productive anymore, unless we’re killing off games…
This whole “I’m more of a Milan fan than you” is getting more and more rampant and ridiculous.
some toxic fatherless fans in the comment shame they say they are milan fans
Just let him retire at AC Milan at 2024 or 2025 ( renew him one year) . ACM need experience veteran player one or two to guide young player. Florenzi i think will stay too until his contract expire
