GdS: Maldini and Massara still keen on Zaniolo – a new bid is being studied

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not completely given up on the possibility of signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that the saga surrounding Zaniolo’s renewal continues with no guarantees at the moment that the player will extend his stay beyond 2024, and the Giallorossi management want a resolution soon so they know if they can count on him for the future.

Milan, meanwhile, have taken an important first step. During the meeting that took place a few days ago between Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and Tiago Pinto there was talk of Zaniolo in addition to Alessandro Florenzi.

The Rossoneri will never offer the €60m requested by Roma and so the strategy remains a cash amount of €25m and a counterpart. There has been talk of Alexis Saelemaekers and Ante Rebic being used but neither appeal to the Giallorossi.

The parties will probably talk about it later, when the renewals of the two directors are completed and perhaps the right formula is decided upon.
