GdS: Maldini handed green light to look into €15m signing of Sassuolo winger

In addition to a striker, AC Milan also want to bring in a right-winger this summer as the current ones have been underwhelming this season. Domenico Berardi could become a concrete option, a report claims.

The Rossoneri currently have Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias on the right flank. Both of them have failed to impress the management this season and the latter could even return to Crotone at the end of his loan.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan are evaluating the signing of Berardi from Sassuolo as Stefano Pioli has asked for him since last summer. The difference is that Paolo Maldini has been handed the green light to investigate the matter this time out.

Milan are willing to pay €15m for the 28-year-old’s services and while that is low, they are hoping that an outright deal could be enough to get Sassuolo to accept it. Berardi, meanwhile, knows that this could be the summer to make the big leap in his career.

The Rossoneri might have to come up a little bit to even have a chance, but an agreement cannot be ruled out in the end.
