GdS: Milan achieve depth and top spot without spending big – Elliott’s three-point philosophy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s ethos continues to be building a squad full of young talent within budgetary requirements and a lower wage budget.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MN24), there Rossoneri have found themselves top of the table without crazy expenses, and Stefano Pioli has plenty of depth at his disposal meaning he can basically field two teams.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his team-mates are racing and the ownership aim to win trophies in Italy and in Europe, the paper claims, with three main points: limited salaries, technical stability and the right reinforcements.

The club have invested in Milanello and has created new commercial partnerships, but the future passes through the new stadium that will be built together with Inter.

In terms of the value of the squad, Gazzetta has it at €496million at the moment, compared to €466m at the beginning of the season. The club have helped many players grow, even when looking at the value of their card. The objectives are important though, so there will not be any big sales.
