GdS: Milan already plotting January move for Bundesliga defender after falling €5m short

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will go back in for their primary defensive target Ozan Kabak during the winter transfer window, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the lunges of Maldini and Massara for a defender on deadline day did not produce anything, but they could have sown the ground for the business to come.

In the coming months, Milan will return to trying to sign Kabak, who was and is still the profile most appreciated by the management. The deal didn’t go through because of the difference between Schalke’s request (€20million) and the Rossoneri’s offer (€15m).

The Bundesliga club put up a wall and so Maldini turned to Strasbourg’s Mohamed Simakan, but even in that case the negotiation ended with nothing.

In January, as mentioned, the leadership will try again for Kabak. Schalke are in a financial crisis and one on the field too, and could be forced to “sell off” their little gem. Obviously, the will of the Turkish defender himself could make a difference.
