GdS: Milan turn back to Brest star after Dragusin disappointment

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have turned their attention back towards Stade Brest defender Lilian Brassier after missing out on Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are very keen to add Brassier to the squad to ensure that Stefano Pioli gets another central defender to complement Matteo Gabbia’s return from his loan at Villarreal.

It seemed that Brassier had become the fall-back option for Milan as they tried to work on a deal for Dragusin, but with Bayern Munich and Tottenham in the frame, it was an ambitious aim.

The Romanian now seems destined for Tottenham in the Premier League and Milan must beat Monaco to the signing of Brassier.

The Ligue 1 star is expected to cost less than €10m which makes him a far more attainable player than Dragusin, who may have cost around €30m.

That being said, Brassier is not the only player that Milan are looking at for their defence this month, with Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno also a target from within Serie A.

It remains to be seen whether Milan’s chase for Dragusin has tempered Brassier’s interest in the move, although that seems unlikely given the stature of the club compared to Brest.

  1. I still personally prefer Milan to invest in number 6 than a CB. What it is needed in CB is Pioli’s trust on Simic, than a new signing

  2. Why why why do we want another CB?

Kjaer, Theo, Gabbia, Simic all available
Pellegrino, Thiaw, Kalulu, Tomori all due to return in the coming 2-6 weeks

    It makes zero sense!

A True defensive midfielder would completely elevate this team, that is what we need. Aside from the fact Krunic is leaving, Pobega is injured and Bennacer at AFCON.

  3. I think we need another midfielder and even another striker before another central defender. Unless they still plan to go for another midfielder after.
