AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is currently in London to try and seal agreements with Chelsea over two targets, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes how the schedule of commitments for Furlani is increasingly intense. Yesterday he was in London to finalise the signings of Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic, a double signing from Chelsea which will cost Milan €26m.
Furlani was in the English capital to lead negotiations with the Blues, who have the need to offload players no longer deemed a key part of their project given the amount they have spent and the size of their squad.
Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic – who play mostly as box-to-box midfielder and right winger respectively – both struggled for consistent playing time last season and have been earmarked by Milan as useful reinforcements.
After Sandro Tonali’s sale to Newcastle United the midfield is in need of being rebuilt, while the right flank has needed addressing for some time.

Meanwhile Cardinale has just bought a massive stake in Alpine/Renault F1. This guy needs to get his priorities in order, F1 today isn’t the F1 of yesteryear, it’s a small operation compared to running a Billion dollar club.
F1’s popularity is exploding in the US. It is the world’s fastest growing sports league on social media. When it comes to investing Cardinale knows what he’s doing. When it comes to football, well, the jury is still out but not particularly convincing so far.
I appreciate and understand the doubts around Cardinal, but you must think to yourself it is easier to keep Maldini then let him go!
Cardinal could have kept Maldini and appeased the fans if he wanted but for me he made a very tough decision, if it’s the right decision, time will tell.
However most successful era’s and legacies can normally can be traced back to a tough decision from the offset.
I would say the jury is absolutely out on Cardinale and his vision for European Football. Just Google an interview he did in 2020 at the Leaders in Sports and Business in Abu Dhabi symposium regarding what he thinks of it as an investment vehicle and what he is looking for in purchasing a club and how he would operate a club. I’m paraphrasing but essentially he said: “invest in a team that is between 6-11th place, good enough not to get relegated and keep the fans excited, but not so good where you have to spend lots of $$ that eats into your profit – so you can continuously create a positive cash flow. That should tell all of us his intentions for the club.
It will come up if you Google search: gerry cardinale 2020 dubai football interview. Starts around min 19
That is Toulouse. They fit the description so clearly, going into Europe for first time, and won’t demand to become France champion soon.
Milan is different, should be different. And I believe he is smart enough to understand WE should be different, better than that.
Time will tell.
You can complain and moan about it, the owner wont change lmao, and your dumb Maldini isnt coming back to make more fail transfer windows.
I hardly agree with Flosso but I’d have to agree here. Cardinale looks for “opportunities of growth” and he’s very good at it, hate his smug look or not 🤬 lol 😭.
Cardinale is hands off at Milan. You have to be with an investment capital firm. He comes in, puts a system in place then moves on. It’s Furlani that is running the ship now, with approvals from Gerry if needed. So lets see what Milan Fan Furlani can get done.
His company did, not him. You keep talking about Cardinale like he is Boehly, Abramovich or one of those billionaires. He isn’t.
Sure didn’t but OK.
Sure didn’t what? Redbird capital bought in a stake, not Gerry Cardinale. Redbird capital invests money from investors, not Gerry Cardinales money. Learn what an investment fund is.
Redbird is Cardinale’s vehicle.
Cardinale bought Renault’ stake or
Redbird bought Renault’s stake?
Whatever!!! It’s still Cardinale behind the wheel of Redbird.
No it isn’t. If you own an investment company and I give you money to make an investment for me, what happened? Did the owner of that company buy it or that company for me? 😀 Redbird bought something with money from the investors, not from Cardinale. That is how an investment fund works. Big difference. Boehly and those other guys spend their money, not other peoples money. Because they are billionaires and they can.
+Cardinale also invest his own money in Redbird so he still indirectly bought that stake. Furthermore, unlike other investors who might not have a saying in the decision, Cardinale is the one whe decide the purchase.
Ok, he bought an extremely small share in that case. His company bought a bit bigger one, still not his.
You are just nitpicking. Its’s normal to say he is Maldini’s signing, he is Furlani’s signing even though we know that it is Milan who sign the player.
Saying Cardinale bought Renault stake is just like that. We know that legally, it is Redbird who bought the stake, but it is Cardinale who decide to buy the stake, it is Cardinale who steer Redbird to buy the stake.
Maybe he didn’t want to buy that but a team of financial experts and analysts decided that is the best course of action for the fund? I mean you don’t know, same as I don’t what exactly happened. I wasn’t talking about that but something else, you confirmed. 👍👍
Even if their team of experts want something, as the Managing Partner of Redbird Cardinale has the final say in the decision.
Bro, you have no idea what is happening there, why are you acting smart? It is ridiculous. Scarloni is the president of Milan and Furlani is the executive director. They can’t do nothing without the investor or owner. They are literally in the position to make decisions and they still can’t do what they want without the approval. It isn’t that hard, try understanding.
“Bro, you have no idea what is happening there,”
Unlike Martin, who knows EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING.
bb, I wrote twice that we don’t know what exactly is happening there so we can’t say who decides and what happened. You can’t even read with understanding, why do you bother on being embarrassed every time? I literally said something that opposes your stupid comment, you made it up. Read, and understand what you are reading. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Martin, I literally told you how investment fund like Redbird work. No investment without Cardinale’s approval.
You can’t compare it to how owner rule over Furlani-Scarloni.
Milan is a corporation while Redbird is LLC.
And how would you know? Stop acting like a smartass, you didn’t own a company in your life, let alone had something to do with this type of investment funds. YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
You only need to open their website to know that Redbird is an LLC in which Gerry Cardinale is the sole managing partner.
Well, considering Alpine/Renault is French team and Milan have a lot of French players, maybe there will be collaboration.
I strongly feel this is where he’s heading..maybe we’ll see Milan’s logo on an F1 car? Lawrence Stroll who bought Aston Martin couple years back basically turned around that team in a very short time by making some serious moves. They’re competing with Mercs for 2nd in the constructers and seem to have a better car with Mercs parts lol . I’m thinking Gerry sees the same opportunity but an F1 team is a money pit. Lots of constructers have come and gone
Milan today is not Milan of yesterday either! How can you tell someone how and where to invest his money? Nowadays, sport is big business that means it generates returns on investment.
Haven’t been following F1 for decades. I used to remember that it is reportedly very hard to get profitable unless of course you’re the big teams.. Has it changed?
They money involved in F1 has multiplied few times after change in ownership, they were bought by an American company.
If both of them for 26mill I’d say a bargain. We can always sell the less effective one
True. 26M€ for 2 ain’t bad. Or wouldn’t as it’s never going to happen. The total will/would be closer to 40M€ for sure.
Nope lol they said the same thing for origi that he can be sold easily. Now we are struggling to sell him to turkey . This team will finish at best 8 th place in the upcoming season
If they play in italy, they both only worth 10m, maximum 15m both
You can’t replace key player with three mediocre to bad players this seems that the midfield is getting degraded 👍 rlc pulisic have no goals no assist to provide to Milan they are mediocre players and we are Chelseas trash bin . Now they want adama traore who only dribbles and run fast again no goals no assist wow three players plus messias salamaekers origi that doesn’t score or doesn’t assist enough to all of them be useful
Romero, RLC, and Pulisic. All 3 have common theme: lack of playing time.
Looks like Furlani can only attract outcast so far… Lets hope he can improve by attractting proven ST before the window close.
Lol hell no we couldn’t make deal with thuram that they said that they had plan . It seems that they don’t have plan at all just overconfidence. Most of top teams have nowadays legends in their management but we fire our legend and now they can’t make anyone to join Milan they would rather choose other teams . We got improve with m&m now we get degraded and going back to struggle. And with these targets we are going to suffer more
26M for BOTH?? LOL. Ya right.
RLC cost 20M (16+4) so Pulsic is only 6M? Hmmmm. Ya that seems very realistic 🤪😝
Would love to get Pulisc as well for a reasonable price but realistically it will likely be around 20M for him as well.
Again we have the money so what’s the problem?? Get it done Georgio
should just pay 50m for both so you can complain on that page about how it is too much and how much you dont like it
You’re obviously a proper idiot. READ what I said you fkn donkey. Christ even @bb agreed with me lol. If you honestly believe Chelsea will sell us Pulisc for 6M – your a bigger fkn moron than anyone of us could have ever thought. Do you really believe that? Well you would have to cause RLC cost us 20M so that’s 6M left. Damn dude you are a real dip$hit eh? Wow 😮 LOLOLO
I still don’t know this people’s problem…y will de sack maldini and masara..the guys working tirelessly for the club .. whenever we are loosing u see it from their faces.look at now..we can’t buy quality but quantity..who’s loftus cheek..who’s pulisic ..now de want to sell maignan again .. mtcheew
If 26m euro that mean they want offer pulisic 10m euro + bonus 5m euro. RLC cost 16m euro + 4m euro bonus. Because we dont pay bonus infront so RLC 16m euro + pulisic only 10m euro ? Thats imposible
Please no Pulisic
